-   ABOUT ME  -

Hi, my name is Karishma and I invite you to join me on my cooking journey! I have a passion for creating healthy recipes I can feel good about eating. Baking is my number one love, but there is so much more to be created. I hope my recipes, ideas, tips and tricks can help you become a better at-home chef!

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, and completed my Master of Science degree in Health and Human Performance, specializing in Community Health, from the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. I also hold a Certificate of Public Health, am a member of the American Public Health Association, and am a Certified Health Education Specialist. Prior to my public health career, I worked as a Licensed Massage Practitioner for 7 years, working with people of different backgrounds to bring wellness into their lives through the power of touch.

I really enjoy blending my background of nutrition and public health and encouraging people to take charge of thier health - starting with what they eat. My hope is that you will feel empowered to make lifestyle changes by growing your confidence in cooking healthy foods. Some of the recipes you see on this site have been developed by me, a novice at-home chef. If I can make it, so can you!

Together, we can prevent a large list of diseases by nourishing every cell we have by giving it what nature has to offer - plant based ingredients.

In the words of my favorite nutrition author Michael Pollan: Eat food, mostly plants, not too much.

My hobbies include traveling and spending time with my family, and spoiling my black lab, Buddy. Actually, here's a picture of him so you can see how cute he is.

Disclaimer: This site is a way for me to keep track of recipes that I have made, so I can go back and make them again, or easily share them with friends. I will always cite where I got the recipe from. Many of these recipes I created myself. If that is the case, I will not have a citation. Also, if have been making the recipe for a long time and I don't remember where it originally came from, it will not have a citation.
